The main scenic piece was to be seen throughout the show as a unifying element but was created for the song Hater by Various Production. The song is harsh, rhythmic, and mechanical but the scenery also had to work with the other dance numbers.
The choreographer wanted something that used elastic and could be climbed on. A wall was designed to reflect the sharp ridged aspects of the piece but was abstract enough to work for the entire show. By using white bungee cords, the audience saw ridged bars until Hater when they were pulled for the first time.
